Rumor: "Voigtlander is considering to start a new line of digital cameras"

What about a manual rangefinder camera that can shoot both film or digital? Maybe with interchangeable backs?
Ok, I still need to have my coffee this morning.

You mean an M240 but cheaper ? :)

It's just a couple of new E-mount lenses, and a 10mm in VM:

wah wah.

...loved the speculations in the thread, though :)

3 full frame E mount lens!

Maybe... just maybe my dream comes true... Sony FE mount internal stuff in one of those Bessa body?!

Cosina can then continue to sell their VM mount and the new FE mount lenses and use on their D-Bessa!

Is that on your wish list, Raid? I could go for that. Let's add a digital XPAN while we are at it!

I am thinking that since technology overall has advanced over the past few years, maybe it is feasible to arrive at a special camera that has no competition so far. I wonder if we have sensors that can handle a super wide camera body or not.

If this was true I would seriously doubt that it would have RF focusing ... much more likely to be EVF in my opinion.

what is happening to quality of these rumours? wasn't leica suppose bring something new and revolutionary just week or two ago?

Rumors come out weeks to months before the products. Some never materialize. Leica's announcement is in a few weeks.

10mm 5.6 is wild. Can't imagine there are many ppl in the world with the skills and use case to utilize it well on 135 but good on Voigtlander for showing they have the design chops to make such a thing! I could see it being very nice on u4/3rds especially where there's fewer ultrawide prime options. Even would be pretty nice on my X-E1 for architectural interiors if it's as distortion-free as the 12mm and 15mm.

These lenses are mainly for video recording on Sony e-mount.

Edit:
this new lines are covering an extreme wide angle range and are perfect for landscape and architecture photographers:

WHAT Voigtländer? The company itself has been gone for 50 years, and so have all successors that took over (Zeiss Ikon, Rollei, the Mandler imperium). Today, it is a empty trademark owned by the largest cooperative of independent German camera dealers (Ringfoto) who have frequently used it within Germany as their house brand, mostly for cheap point-and-shoots, digital picture frames and the like, and have leased its use for higher-end gear to Cosina. If it is not a Cosina Voigtländer, a new digital "Voigtländer" would simply be yet another sub 100€ point and shoot.

Considering that this not a Photokina year, you do have a point that this could be a minor announcement.

correct me if I'm wrong.

E-Mount = Sony Nex aps sensor
FE-Mount = Sony Full Frame a7(x) sensor

The 12 and 15 are available full frame in M mount. Is the 10mm Really full frame? Are these for cropped Nex sensors E mount.
Thanks

This is interesting.

VM-Mount
Voigtländer continues its VM-Mount digital optimization with the new 12 mm F 5,6 Ultra-Wide-Heliar III. Additionally Voigtländer will also release the new 10 mm F 5,6 Hyper-Wide-Heliar with VM-Mount.

I am quite certain that they are made for FF. I believe that the mount is called E mount, being the same regardless of sensor, but that E mount lenses made for FF sensors, to distinguish them for those made for APS-C, are called FE lenses
