Hi,

someone on eBay is advertising a 200mm lens "Telemar-22" in M39 mount for Zorki (#260010691922). Is this actually an LTM lens or rather a Zenit lens?

Philipp

It's a Zenit SLR lens, produced in 39 and 42mm threads in the early 70s. Quite rare, I hear.

Cheers, Ian

I remember these being sold in camera shops in the 60's so I don't know if they are all that rare! They had a good reputation though.

John, might you perhaps be thinking of the Jupiter-21? Princelle claims the Telemar was made in the 70s in very small numbers, although I have to say, the design does look earlier and he's certainly not infallable.... :)

Cheers, Ian

Hi Ian
No it was the Telemar, I've seen that comment by Princelle, and couldn't understand it! You are far too young, but an old fart like me can remember them being advertised in the AP and they were in TOE the importers catalogue.
The reason I'm so sure was that I very nearly bought one at my local dealer when I had the Zenith 3m, I bought a Soligor lens instead, because it wasn't so heavy.
Perhaps the French importers did not bring that one into Princelles native land!

Its funny how tastes change Max, another reason I chose the Soligor was it "looked" more professional. Ah the ignorance of my youth!!! The date would have been 1970-72!

As a rangefinder user I demand my right to be an old fart too!:D

Cheers, Ian (perhaps not the oldest, but certainly the fartiest!)
