Or, if you have the factory hood, Series VII filters. I prefer this arrangement, but then I already had a set of the Series filters and have exactly zero 48mm filters, so I suppose that may just be me.

I have heard that some older lenses have a similar filter size but the

I'm not sure what pitch thread current B+W filters have, but the Nikkor 85/2 has 0.5mm pitch. This thread (no pun intended) has your answer, along with info for some other vintage Nikkor lenses:
