Actually the 45/2.8P is considered one of the best pieces of glass that Nikon has put out in a very long time.
Dead on Harry. Mine is almost always on my FM3A
and it makes for a great combination.

I bought the FM3a..... This rig rocks.
I thought about getting one; but then my F2 would get jealous, and if I get a motordrive for the F2 then my Fs would get jealous, and who knows where the madness would end?
I've had my FM3a 6yrs and love it. Still going on it's original batteries! My only critisisms are the loud shutter, and the AE lock button is totally unusable for left eyed people like me as your nose is in the way.
