I was in the studio yesterday, scanning my drafts and drawings. I got a little bored and started scanning my hand... then I got the wonderful idea of scanning my face. A few friends saw me scanning my face and wanted in, so we all decided to scan ourselves. The result is a really cool... "underwater" look. Your features get distorted and the glass from the scanning bed makes it feel like you're in a tank. Here are a few of our scans... and a few normal black and white portraits taken from the Fuji X100.

I scanned two of my hands, then moved one over as the scanner passed my hand on the scanning bed.

Kinda like the hand scan, 'cept I flipped my head over as the scanner passed my face on the scanning bed.

Patrick... the scanner stuff is what it is... Instant Art... but the B&W's are absolutely terrific. Well done!!!

Greg.

Very cool! I really liked no 3 and 5. The way the light and definition falls off quickly beyond the face gives some sort of aura effect.

The black and white portraits are also nicely done. :)

Yeah, Scanner art is just... quick fun for when I'm bored! But I'm glad you guys enjoyed the black and whites... I put quite a bit of time (well... relatively speaking) into those!

Thanks for the kind words :)
