Scanning medium format film on Epson Perfection 4870

Hi.

I'm using the Epson's Perfection 4870 to scan my negatives, both 35mm & medium format. While I do not encounter much problems with the 35mm, Most of the scans of the medium format film gets cropped.

The scanner comes with film holders, and there are marks on these holders to guide the placement of the film. I placed the film in the holder properly, yet I still get cropped scans.

Anyone here knows how to overcome this?

yes, all you do is click on the arrow next to preview, and select normal instead of thumbnails. It took me a while to figure that out as well. Also, you will want to scan the film rightside up (opposite of what they say) and flip it in photoshop. When you scan it they way they say, the film touches the scanning bed, creating rings in your photos.

It works. Selecting 'Normal' preview scans the entire pass and that saves a lot of time too. Managed to scan the negatives without getting them cropped.

I'm going to try flipping the film to avoid the Newton rings. I've never had the problem on MF, but do occasionally run into it on 35mm. I can fix in on PS, but would rather not have to deal with it.
