Now that I admit I have GAS I must show the camera I received today:

A Olympus 35 RC I won on ebay :)

Once again I wont this very cheap because was described as "untested" and I could see on the photo the timer button was broken. Costed me 10 euro so if it would be too hard to fix the camera I wouldnt loose too much :)

After it arrived I got to know the shutter works fine, meter also works fine, rangefinder seems accurate and mechanics seem very good and soft to work with :)

The only bad thing: (possibly the worse that the camera could have) the lens has several scratches on the front lens. They are not deep scratches, mostly surface scratches from cleaning and one or two might be because of not using the lens cover.

My question to the more experienced is: Will this camera perform good enough, or did I just spent my money?
I will spend a roll on this camera tommorow maybe, but couldnt wait to get some opinions...

I tried to capture a image with the scratches showing on the lens, but my cheapo digital camera couldnt capture them (tried with and without flash and from various angles).

Regards,

Sergio

PS: with this one, I have now 3 rangefinders... Please help me cure this GAS :D

I agree with G'man. My Zuiko 21/2 has a very small scratch on the front element. I have seen no effect. This shot has no direct sunlight, so isn't indicative of the worst case scenario. Nonetheless, performance is good.

I ll try to shoot some test film on the worse case scenario tommorow... Hopefully it will be sunny, and will shoot a lot around 12 o clock :D
Apart from the scratches this camera is very light, and has a general solid feeling into its mechanics.... And she's more compact than my Canonet.. :)

PS: Trius, nice photo :) My lens has more than one slight scratch, has several... We'll see what they can do on harsh situations
