Seattle RFF meet #3

OK, good to know people are noticing this one. I have been starting this thread way too late at night.

Weekends are pretty much totally open for me.

can one of you send me 2 lbs of espresso roast unground coffee from Vivace? Vivace is a great photo op -- they do some amazing stuff with coffee --- also one of the large round coffee mugs -- mine got lost in the move from Seattle back to Memphis...

I'll send you something cool in exchange ----

for the record, vivace's website is www.espressovivace.com - i miss their coffee

DEATH BEFORE DECAF!!!!!

how funny! Vivace is the coffeehouse on the ground floor of my office building! Perhaps you knew this. . .

anyone else want to join us?

Where to meet?

When?

I am open to ANY weekend for the next countless weekends. Afternoon is best.

We should really try to get a larger crowd this time. Let's brainstorm some attractive activity or something to get people to show up. Print swap goes without saying.

ideas?

My suggestion :

Elysian is good - but we might do better, even.

Try Dilittante Chocolates on Broadway in Capitol Hill. They serve a number of particularly good drinks and things like that. It is NOT a chocolate/candy store - it is more of a coffehouse.

Paddy Coynes Bar - very Irish pub near the REI store in Seattle. Parking would be sketchy. Food is fantastic. Beer is also very good.

There are a number of good places in the U-District.

I think we should choose a place with good angles. Somewhere photogenic.

Bring a RF for sale :)
or lens,
or ???

yes - this is a good one. I am bringing my whole pile. RF645, 45, 65, and 100mm lenses.

I would be possibly interested in trading one of those lenses (you can guess which) for something attractive - or I would sell it. Of course, I think Doug and myself are the only owners of this camera in the Seattle area (he isn't even in the Seattle area).

I will bring some prints - nice quality ones - for the meet. It would be good if everyone brought one nicely done print of their favorite work (no cheesy inkjet prints).

Saturday the 9th of September is my choice. Gives us time to get a print or two and time to make sure we can make it - but not too far off so we forget.

OK, Saturday the 9th of September is our date. Place has yet to be settled. Could do the Elysian again, but we are open to suggestions.

Anyone interested in attending needs to let me know because I will be bringing RFF pins (RayPA will send me some or bring them if he attends). We need a pretty solid number to make things work.

9th of september is the date.

We may change the date to accomodate a larger crowd, but as it stands, the 9th is the day.

Please offer ideas of a good place to meet. Elysian on Capitol Hill is the status quo.

I think we have maybe 4 people here. Need more! I'd love to see a crowd like the first meet. That would be a good thing.

join us!

to bring :

camera
wallet
at least 1 8x10 or larger print of one of your shots - a good quality print.

Maybe we should all post (on this thread) which shots we'd like to have people bring.

I will be bringing - or RayPA will be bringing - some RFF pins for those who show up. I need to know how many will attend, so we will be able to have enough pins for everyone.

bump

We have Planted Tao, PlummerL, Bryce, tetrisattack...

me...

that makes 5 if everyone sticks to their guns.

We need at least one more!
