I gotta say it's very tastefully done. Not Blade Runner, not Last Samurai. Just the right balance of the traditional and contemporary designs working together with a respect to the long long history of the city, IMHO.

Sug, thanks for the link. I LOVE that Kyoto store gallery space.. the natural light is huge bonus for looking at prints. Too bad the SF store interior doesn't have more natural light in the gallery area. By the way, I was in the SF store again a few days ago and they had the gallery prints ready to put up... its a show of Peter Turnley's "French Kiss" Paris photos.

Positively ... awesome .
Most likely only the sound of water dripping from a spring or a well boken in shutter of a M3
are suitable besides the Japanese music.

I went to the one in Greenwich Village last year and it was nice! The guys in there pretended to be interested in my M3 with Carl Zeiss 50/1.5 with Amadeo adapter. Very cool.

Thanks for the reminder about the Leica Kyoto store, Sug! I'm visiting Kyoto in October, and just added dropping by the store for a peek to my list of things to do!
