I think what I like about Al's risque pic is that it's pure sixties ... who cares who shot it it's a fine, very atmospheric photograph.

I can't say your body turns me on though sorry Al ... but I do think the generous thing to do would be to send an autographed copy to Heldur! :p :p

Keith, are you suggesting that it might turn Heldur on? That seems to be the consensus amongst those who've sent emails and private massages to me.

Heldur, if you'd read the caption that was with that photo you'd know that it was NOT a self portrait. Another person made the photograph. Linking to the photo directly rather than to the blog posting of the photo together with the caption takes it out of context. Still, I suppose that some women and certain men might find it appealing. Perhaps you'd care to purchase a print? Enjoy!

Yes I saw later that it wasn´t a self portrait, apologies.

But after reading some of the other posts though it is like being back in high school here lol

I agree, newsgrunt. Heldur should have done exactly that. I'd posted the photo elsewhere, he's the one who decided to shock everyone with the link. Without that link you wouldn't have been shocked! You probably would never have run across the picture to begin with.

Actually you placed the link to the blog containing the photo.

I was waiting for Heldur to join the contest, as it would have been great for him to submit the winning mirror self-portrait image, but no, so ...

... the winner is Keith! IMO, his image has great tones, great hands, great hat, and a mystery to it that makes it the most interesting of the pictures submitted.

The (small) prize is a roll of Kodak Infra-red EIR Ektachrome film.

Kudos go to Steve's tribute to Fenninger, historisist's vunerable self-image, Ken and photodave's colourful abstracts, and Nick's wild hair-doo.

Great little contest and a nice prize.
Good job Frank!

actually Kieths´ photo invoked images of a hardened miner who had just finished a hard days work, with worn but tough hands, and a almost oily shirt. Or maybe a 70s vietnam war correspondent fresh from the battlefield.
(although the reality may have been more like someone who just returned from chess club and wanted to see how he looked in his new mail order Indian Jones hat)

I liked PeterM1's shot. To me it has a raw honesty feel to it, the look of concentration of a photographer composing his shot, seems to be looking deeper into something.

No I didn't contribute, I have offended enough people so probably better to hide under a rock. I have too much to learn.

Sorry ... never worked in the mines but have worked outside for a lot of my life so my hands are somewhat hardened and battle scarred I guess. Missed the draft to Vietnam by not much with the then ballot system in New Zealand. I don't think that shirt has much oil on it but I may have to check. As for my hat I bought that twenty years ago and when I'm outside in the Aussie sun my head would fry without it due to lack of hair but sadly the hat is very near the end of it's life span so I may have to get another ... do you happen to have that mail order contact you mentioned?

And yes ... you do have a lot to learn but I don't personally hold that against you ... plus everyone in this world is entitled to their opinion! :)

In all fairness, good to see you got a good sense of humour all meant in fun. I lived on the Sunshine Coast for about 14 years so know about that harsh sun!

LOL ... damn you gotta love that whip!

Fourteen years here almost makes you an Aussie so I can forgive you for anything ... but, the Sunshine Coast is a bit fast for me. :p

Sometimes we need to remember that we're here to discuss rangefinders and photography and we should leave the other stuff to people with nothing better to do ... I aplogise for needling you earlier.

I'm normally very tolerant! :D

This is by far the geekiest thing I've ever done with a camera. My young son was wondering what on earth dad was up to outside with the mirror and the old camera. Well he might wonder...
