I have an M2 body, should I sell my M3 body to fund an X-100? I shoot mainly 35mm on the M's and love the way the X-100 feels. I can shoot the grandkids w/out missing some shots due to manual focus. The upload photos to the web etc.

I would still have the M2 for all my B&W & Color film. Then the X-100 for the quick every day camera. Its retro and the photos look great. Your input would be greatly valued.

if you like 35 pov and want digital, then sure. but a much cheaper p&s will do the same.

if you want a quality image...the x100 will deliver.

You can get a NEX-5n for a lot less. You can almost get a NEX-7 for the same price. The OLED viewfinder for those is way better than the X100 viewfinder, in my opinion. You may want to try that out first, to see if they appeal.

If it's the ergonomics of the X100 that you like, then of course go that way. But the NEX cameras, I was surprised how much I like them, and how good they feel.

I'd scrape the cupboard bare before I gave up my M3. Plus I have a feeling I won't be bequeathing an x100 to my daughter. The M3 on the other hand will keep on ticking long after I'm gone.

But thats just me, and your argument that you need the AF to capture memories of your grand kids holds a lot of weight.
