Hi all, I have a nikon SP and an external mount 50 1:1.1 lens and some acessories which I am getting ready to sell. I was hoping someone on here could point me in the right direction as to a price guide book, web site or some other source so I can determine where to price everything before I list it for sale. I am the second owner of the camera, have had it for years and have never used it. Thanks for the help, Rico

For the SP, condition is everything. Does it have a cloth or titanium shutter? (If the SP is black it is quite valuable, otherwise in the $1,200 - $2,400 range depending on condition. That's a very rough estimate. Anything mint could go higher, anything with heavy professional use could go lower.
50 1.1s don't sell often enough for there to be an accurate estimate. Condition and existance of caps/case makes a big difference. For the most part, unless there's a serious problem, the lens should sell for quite a bit more than the camera.
It seems to me Nikon RF prices have fluctuated a lot in the past year. Down and up.
If you post some photos, that would help some of our members make a better judgment of potential value.

VinceC, The camera and lens show very little use. There are really no wear marks and inside looks like new. I don't know about the shutter, the serial # of camera is 6215892 and the lens is #141450 if that helps. I will try to post some picture's if people want to see it, just have to get the wife to help me with the computer stuff. Thanks

That's the right serial number for a foil shutter. (If you remove the back to load film, the cloth shutter looks very much like woven cloth. The titanium foil shutter looks more like ribbed rubber.
I haven't paid close attention to prices on this equipment, but the external mount 50 1.1 is more desireable. The aperture blades are reportedly very fragile on this lens, so if it hasn't had much use, don't force it, instead change aperture gently.

Good luck. It sounds like a nice camera/lens. Any documentation from the original owner would added value for a collector.
NIKON KIU
Did you say Nippon Kogaku
Does the lens have a hood? Case? Caps?
How about the camera? does it have a case? Box? Owners' manual?

Nikon Kiu, There are brown leather cases for the camera, lens, exposure meter, one 8.5 focus finder, the variable focus finder has no box or case. There is an original SP instruction manual in pretty good shape. No box for the camera, but one for the exposure meter. There is a lens cap on the 1:1.1. No lens hood for the 50mm 1:1.1, but there is a HS-1 for a 50/1.4 lens. It could have been from my original FTN from around 1970-71. I am hoping to get some pictures posted soon. Thanks, Rico

Rico take a look at Leicashop webpage (Vienna, Austria) http://www.leicashop.com.
These two links might interest you:
https://www.leicashop.com/vintage/nikon-chrome-set-p-2099.html (Nikon SP set with Nikkor-N 1.1/5cm external mount lens)
https://www.leicashop.com/vintage/nikon-5cm11-nikkorn-322-p-2112.html (Nikkor-N 1.1/5cm external mount lens)
Their (the shop) price tag is quite high, maybe because the items are more rare here in Europe than in Japan or USA? Original papers and boxes always increase the price.

Thanks for the info everyone. Maybe I should go to europe for a vacation and take the nikon along. It appears that pricing the outfit may be the most difficult element of selling it. I checked out "McKeown's" Cameras book/price guide from the library. It is 3 years old, but should be close maybe. Is anyone familar with this book? Thanks for the help again,
Rico

Watch that step!
Gee just to have that in my hand`s for ONE Retro PiNUp photoshoot, I`m sure that would shoot some really fine Lingerie Art Nudes!
She`s a beaut, really fine bit of Nikon workmanship....and with all the accessories well worth over $5,000+
I`d say it`s my personal fav combo from Nikon in the 1950`s - I was born too late
Good Luck With The Sale

Hi Rico, PM sent. BTW, from the only picture of the lens (without the hood covering), there appears to be some spots? Can I have a closer look?
Thanks,
Stephen
