This gentleman appears to be using manual (= film) cameras.

Am I right in this?

If so, he must be one of the last of his genre. Or has film photography enjoyed a resurgence in Japan?

Sorry to say, DownUnder, but it's digital.

Also sorry to say, the film resurgence in Japan (in my opinion) reached its peak a few years ago. There are still plenty of film photographers out and about but not like before. About 5 years ago there was a big boom of young women using TLR cameras. It was fun to watch them; they'd go out in groups all dressed up and taking pictures of each other, laughing and having a good time. Sad to say I haven't seen such activity for a while.

All the best,
Mike
