California (Bay Area, Northern) September 18 Chinatown Beer & Gear --

Yup. And what's with the 'so I hear'? I was there when you wrote it down.

Gosh, between you and no-show Jamie, we're going to need to drink beer AND eat blueberries for the memory.

SF Beer and gear...and blueberries.

Acai berry, it's how I stay so darn witty. As for No Show J I think we need to set a wake-up call. We also have to send out a search team for K-Raf to make sure he hasn't morphed into a 1946 Manchurian historian incapable of communicating in English and understanding our date/time for the meet up.

Sounds good! Are you anchoring the second location??

Ray, I can "anchor" (huh?) a secondary location. I'll be at Grant and California (not the Gate to Chinatown at Grant and Bush), 'cuz that's where the the whole shebang is scheduled to kick-off at 11am. Or so I hear.

I aim to be there 10:30 - 10:45 and stay put for a while, before meandering up Grant toward North Beach. Arrivals by Muni/BART can walk to Grant and California from Powell or Montgomery Stations. Drivers can walk from Sutter-Stockton garage.

Special requests, call Ray (I'm spoken for).

Still on the fence about coming... Will probably phone you, Sug, if I end up showing up and can't find you guys.

Come Reese! I'm trying to bring our Pentax 67 guy aka Charlie as well.

I'll give you some MF films as belated b-day present. ;)

With the Transbay currently closed for renovation the number can be found in the portolet outside The End-Up. Or so I hear.

You guys are HIGHsterical. This is obviously turning into one of the "stupid threads" I've heard about.

So, we'll meet at 10 AM at the CC turnaround, or, for those coming from a different direction, at Grant and California—where Peter "the anchor" will be standing. He'll look like a popular coated chocolate candy with two 'M's hanging around his neck. :p

If I have to wait too long, I'll be lying prostrate on the ground like a dead weight. It's part of the B&G cultural tradition, Chinese style.

Ray, I just noticed the comparative readership of the other live threads here tonight. For future reference, you need to lead off the thread title with the word PIN-UPs.

We do need to get back to some "What is the best strap for my Chrome M2, early serial number, button rewind, Germany engraved on the hotshot camera?".

I look forward to seeing everyone, all kidding aside. I'm going to bring along one big and one small, probably a Contax T and a Big SLR. Or not ;)

I've got a Pin-Up photo of Ray outside The End-Up in full leathers as well as Mike and Kent doing a foxtrot together late one night on Folsom St., however, if I posted them it would surely kill this thread.

LMAO! OK, that made me laugh.

Just for your info Robert, we were doing the QuickStep, not the Foxtrot. Mike is very light on his feet. :)

MOTOTCYCLE LEATHERS. I was in motorcycle leathers. Besides, it's impossible to tell where I am. Robert only shoots wide open. :D In fact, the quality of the oofa is far more scandalous than some old fart in bike leathers. :D

Leathers are leathers...

Alright, I'm in. Gonna aim for cable car turnaround at 10, but may end up having to meet at Grant & California instead just cos I run late sometimes.

Dang - will be missing you guys by a week! I don't arrive until the 26th... would have been nice to put some faces to these names in here.

My last visit to SF, I stumbled upon thousands of people in Chinatown... had no idea it was this particular festival. Still fresh in my mind was one Chinese cowboy singing country classics with a distinguished country twang in his voice.... he was very good!
Enjoy!

Not sure I can get down from Sacto to meet the 10:00 am meet time on Powell St. Is there a later meet-up point?
