Cal, what time are you getting together on Sunday?

I remember when I bulk loaded Pan F for about 3 cents per shot..those days are long gone...
Emile, I can remember buying outdated Plus-X Aero film from Bona-fide Novelities in NYC in the 1970's for $3.95 a 100 ft roll. Figuring 19 36 exposure rolls per 100 feet, that works out to just under 21 cents a roll.
I miss those days...

Great seeing all of you yesterday, great day in Brooklyn. Cal I did check
out that Rollei it needed a lot of work, checked the lens didn't look to good,
but thanks for letting me know it was there. Made it home faster than
getting there.

At the Leica Booth I spoke to Rene because I know him from the Leica Store in SoHo and inquired about borrowing the 16-35 zoom for my SL. Rene said he was told not to ever lend out that lens, but told me to ask the other two reps manning the booth with him.
Not sure if I was made an insider, but the secondary response was sure why not. As a newly released lens we all know how difficult it is to secure a lens to buy or try.
I was carrying a baby Tech IV Linhof and didn't have my SL with me. I think what cinched the opportunity is that I mentioned that I would have to make some time and come back with my SL. Already owning a SL I think opened the door for me. This was really smooth.
Not sure I need another lens, I already own a 28 Cron and if I stop down to F5.6 do I really need auto focus when a 5-15 foot kill-zone will do? Is a 35 Cron-SL, when released, going to be a good lens for me? Or is the 16-35mm zoom going to be a great lens to use when I have a tradition of being a fast primes kinda guy.
Jeff got a M10 loaner with a 35 Lux to try. Seemed like Photoville was flooded with Leicas. Ran into Brian and his crew, John Lee, Louis Mendez and my new friend Allen I met Friday night.
I wore my rock climbing knickers and expanded my branding by thieving it wearing a Calvin Klein shirt that had "Calvin" and "New York" printed on it. Pretty funny. LOL.
Lately I have been feeling like a bit of a circus attraction because I have taken notice that women and girls have been doing some head turning and eyeing me. Just imagine a face of an older man spackled onto a body of a skinny 15 year old.
Then throw in that he is carrying a Linhof. What a freak. LOL. It is not easy being me. LOL.

"5-15 foot kill-zone" - Cal, we are talking about photography--right?![]()
Dan,
The 5-15 foot region is is when I set up my 28 Cron at F5.6 and set the distance scale at 8 feet. Then I basically us a M-body as a point and shoot.
Mistakenly many people stop down to F8.0 and don't realize they are in a place in small format where they get a bit of diffraction. Although I have F2.0 most of my shots are at F5.6.
"Kill-Zone" in fact is a military term. I borrowed that term because anyone within a 5-15 foot radius could be shot rather indiscriminately. No mercy I say. LOL.
I guess I worked too long at Grumman, the fourth largest military contractor in the U.S. when I worked there. Also was part of Northop Grumman after they merged. I was involved in reasearch and part of the "Space and Electronics Division."
I was awarded "Inventor of the Year" for my patent for a "Three-Dimentional Optical Corelator" that I kinda invented originally as a smart weapon to target tanks. Could also be used for robotic vision.
How many people here have made Holograms? How many people here have had unlimited resources to play around, and all the military infrastructure of an aerospace company at their disposal. Pretty much I was a rogue operator that operated inside a Fortune 500 Company.
Although not in the military about 3/4'ers of the men I worked with were veterans, and I helped win the "Cold War."

Robert,
"Maggie's" fans say flattering remarks. Also Maggie has intentions on exploiting me for promoting this Pericone Diet. Evidently Pericone MD has a whole realm of men's products. This stuff is mucho expensive.
If Calvin Klein marketing was looking for a "Vintage Hipster" who at age 60 would not need much to model for their underwear commercials, I'm the guy. Don't tell Calvin Klein, but I wear Patagonia underwear.
I'm a size 28 in knickers, shorts and pants, but my Paul Smith suit size is a 38. Technically if using sizes I have a ten inch "drop" but in real life it is only 9 inches.
As part of my confused identity, not only am I a white boy trapped in an Asian's body, but I am also a 60 year old man trapped in a 15 year old's body. Perhaps I'll never grow up. LOL.
The Kaepernick football jersey I wear in support of our constitution and for a man who defends our constitution I bought on closeout a boys 14-16 which is basically made for a 15 year old. Fits me perfectly.
Also in terms as fitting in... men's sizes start at size 40 here in the U.S. and I'm a size 38. This forces me to wear either Paul Smith or Prada.
I'm a skinny bitch.

I have to un-volunteer myself for this Friday at Photoville because I have a gig/event to shoot.
Agnes B. sponsors a research vessel and it will be docked in NYC for a private event. Maggie got an invite, so as her on-TOUR-arge I get to go.
When I was in junior high I wanted to be an Oceanographer. I think the isolation and loneliness by that profession of being self contained and self sufficient was important to me. Still is to this day. I appreciate the solitude and living in a separate world, and perhaps even the anti-social behavior. Kinda funny how this extends into my photography and being a photographer.
I find for a real man the expression "No man is an Island" to be untrue. Real men often have to stand alone I have found.
