I recently picked up a very cheap 135mm f/4.0 which needs a clean out. I've been able to get access from the back and got it all back together fine but haven't been able to figure out how to get the front element off.

Is it just as simple as taking the name ring out of the filter threads? It looks like it is one piece up there.

Any help would be much appreciated!

I have no experience with this lens, but, access to the front group may be as simple as taking off the front trim ring. I’m guessing that once this is off you’ll find another ring, with spanner slots, that will have to be removed too. Keep on doing this as long as you can.

Some Canon LTM lenses have a very small screw, about 1mm in size, located on the barrel near the front of the lens. Removing this screw will allow the entire front part of the lens to be unscrewed.

Good luck.
