Same as Kevin... great to see everyone, familiar faces and new. To those that stayed on for "B&G", hope you all had fun. And thanks to Paula and Heidi for putting up with all the "gear talk". 🙂
I liked the show a LOT, especially seeing the contact sheets. (Imagine the daunting task of editing down 750 rolls of film to the 84 images of "The Americans"!)
The curator's text was also fun to read... helped me to clarify much of my vague thinking about the importance of Frank's images in "The Americans". Its amazing (and sad) that the statements he made about the core problems Americans struggled with (power game of politics, dulling of the human spirit by consumerism, race relations) over 50 years ago remain today.
Anytime anyone here wants to venture out to SF Bay Area galleries and wants some company, let me know. I REALLY like to look at other people's photography hanging on a wall (instead of peering at the tiny approximations on the web).

Great to meet nice people and listen to intelligent reactions to the exhibit!
Besides certain camera shops in Tokyo, I think the 3rd floor of the SFmoma is now where I have seen the nicest collection of camera gear in the world 🙂

The Robert Frank show was great, and the RFF company was even better. And it was very nice to meet Paula, Wayne & Heidi, Michael, and several other folks whose names I didn't catch. Beautiful day, too. And then there were those cyclists... 😱🙄

Was really great to see everyone yesterday (and lest anyone be confused, I'm referring to the RFF folks rather than to the naked rollerskater or the group of naked cyclists).
And yes, Steve, we definitely need to organize a group visit to Sacramento to visit you and BobKonos.

Thanks, Kevin. Yeah, that's my favorite of the digital grab shots yesterday. Wish I could figure out how to embed a larger version in this posting so you could see that image a bit more clearly (still can't figure it out so, instead, I posted a larger version over on the "Stolen Moments" thread).

A Day at the Museum...
A Day at the Museum...
It was great to see everyone and I am happy I survived the taser used by the security guard when I tried to take a picture in the exhibit. I can say this fabulous shot, with it's slight "right hand tilt" serving as a moving homage to R. Frank, was definitely worth the risk:
I also believe RayPA came a bit more lightly dressed than the previous picture might indicate. Here he was looking for the MOMA:
The group amassed outside the MOMA appeared confused by his entrance:
With some like Michael actually looking for an LCD review screen to make sure they really saw what they saw:
But, alas, there seem to be multiple dimensions to this life:
Where not all life forms are appreciated:
All kidding aside, it's a treat to see such nice people and share a day at the museum. Wayne, Michael, Caryl with a "Y" with husband and all the regulars... great to see you all!
