After the self made CLA, this few bucks-some tools-spend an hour-Jupiter 3 (Zeiss Sonnar copy) became more and more my favourite lens.

After the CLA (following Brian's instructions, see former post) it works really perfect. Smooth gear, good focus at near distances and infinity as well.

A short hint for those who are looking out for buying this lens: Production quality assurance was sometimes very poor in FSU. My J3 has a sort of air bubble (approx. 0.5 mm) in the 2nd or 3rd lens, in the lower left quadrant. It doesn't effect the photograph itself - so it's just a cosmetic failure - but maybe worth some bucks if you are negotiating the price for the lens.

Anyway: Here is one more from the kitchen, in the middle of the nigth, aperture fully open, 3 feet distance, soft light:

Gohaj,

Very nice pictures from both Hong Kong & Singapore. I guess Olsen is down there by now. Have you met him?

My Epson has developed a hot pixel, probably had it for a couple of weeks looking back at my images, I only noticed it just now when I was testing my Pre-war Leitz 50mm Summitar f/2 Lens

My Summitar is a piece of crap, there's a bubble in the front lens element, and I can see some separation along the edges of the front elements. Lots of brassing. My Summar is in way better shape.

Testing some old and new toys with the R-D1

Nikon SB-24 Flash and 35mm Ultron, 400 ISO, 1/125th @ f/16. I need to practice a bit more with this flash before next Friday.
Incidentally; this is a small part of my "Battlefleet Gothic" Chaos Fleet that I'm currently using against some friends in a campaign.
