Great Shot, Michael.
I was awoken by a thunderstorm around 3:30am. After listening to the rain beating on the windows and the lightning flashes lighting up the bedroom for about 15 minutes I got up and grabbed a tripod, my R-D1 and a remote release and tried to capture some lightning.
Unfortunately worst of the storm had passed and I still had the summitar screwed on to the camera, should've had a wide-angle lens
I think I got one descent shot out of the 20 or so 10 second exposures (at ISO 200 @ f/12). I'll see about posting it later today.

as you may have seen by some of the shots I have posted, I am an classic car afficionado as well. If you have serious interest in shooting hood ornament, don't miss the Techno Classica Essen show, in early April each year - the biggest Classic Car Motor Show in Europe. We are living near Essen, so its maybe a good opportunity for a meeting face by face.

Andreas, sounds like something I should be able to do, according to routenet, a trip to Essen would take me about 1 and a half hour. Might be a good chance to try out my ZI Box Tengor, it has a little brass tag from a shop in Essen on it.
