They do look beautiful! I like the first one best; i like how saturated the color is. Are they jpegs or did you shoot them raw?
Thanks,

Thanks for the compliment! These were imported into Lightroom as Raw and then played with a little bit. Some contrast was added, but not very much. They almost came like that from te camera!
This is an amazing camera! I can't believe its not getting as much attention from rangefinder people even now.

Agreed, I really enjoy the colors that CCD sensors produce SOOC far more than CMOS. Heck even the B&W images SOOC are superior to those from my CMOS cameras IMO. Although I'm not sure if it being a CCD has anything to do with that or just some software voodoo that was put into the camera.

Sadly the vast majority of people purchasing anything tech related subscribe to the "latest and greatest" mentality and can't appreciate anything that's more than a generation or two old, cell phones(especially iphones) are a great example.

There's definitely something special about the sensor and image processing in the R-D1!
I think color rendition varies camera-to-camera moreso than CMOS vs CCD at least in my experiences- I loved the results I got from my CCD R-D1 but couldn't stand the colors from my CCD D80; on the other hand I like the colors from my CMOS EOS M quite a lot but did not like the rendition of the CMOS EOS 1D MKIII I borrowed from a friend at all.
Regretting selling my R-D1... My X-E1 is a fantastic camera but not the R-D1 replacement I hoped it would be

Thanks! Yeah the light was really nice, but I've edited them a bit too.

i look at a photo like greg's b&w portrait and i think 'who needs a 'better' camera than this'? i think that often as well going through some of my own shots, even the ones taken at 1600, which i find just wonderful. plus it is such a sheer joy to use.

Dusted off the R-D1 after 7 years of storage. Don't have a working version of Photoshop anymore so I just used PhotoRAW for sepia and exposure adjustments, then MS Paint for resizing.
All shot with Leica 28/2 Summicron ASPH at f5.6.
