v. nice. from your flickr description, the lens is a 50mm Planar.

I am curious, Did you have to crop to get such close focus ?

I understand the ZM goes down to 0.7m.

thanks

Nope, that's straight out camera (with some PP of course!).

Think I shot that at 0.8, but yeah could have gone down to 0.7 (I've attached one focused slightly closer).

OK, now that I really own the R-D1 which spent the last months with me I may also show some photographs captured with it. I am more a B&W dude and do my B&W on film, so the R-D1 is more to raise my color ability and I have to learn a lot in that area. So I hope my examples do not cause any kind of eye cancer to you.

Those five are from an evening walk through the small town next to where I live. I am pretty much impressed by the performance of this digital dinosaur. All the images were at ISO 800 or ISO 1600 and right now I look at a 13x19.5 inch print of the first one and just love it.

For some reason your username and the girls in the last image seem oddly familiar.

Had to check out your Flickr profile to see if you were local to me.

You're not.

was going to a client place. next to the building there were these 2 women and their kids
begging by the road-side. i zone-focused at f11 (i think) and quickly snapped a shot
without framing. guess this lucky shot came up well...
