Share your strap

Most straps mentioned here are absurdly overpriced IMO. The Domke $10 strap without any of the fancy quick release stuff does the job well enough. I mean if your intention is to photograph and use the strap to hang your camera from your neck or from your shoulder. The A&A cloth strap looks very nice and comfortable, I just can't bring myself to pay that price for something that probably cost around 50 cents in raw materials.

I am new to this forum... great learning experience since I got my "new" old M3 that I plan to use it. Anyway, I agree with Pablito, I piece of blue Thule strap works for me...

I carry my rangefinders in an M Classics bag, when I get one out to use it, I need it around my neck so I cant drop it. But, I dont want a wide or overly stiff strap to snarl-up in bag.
So,my favorite is the HAMA BRAIDED STRAP-it stows well & is perfect for me. I do need a couple more, if any used ones are lurking someplace.

I use the Leica 14312 on my M2. I'm not a big fan on the grip on it but it is fairly comfortable.

On my Bronica ETRSi I use a Domke Gripper 1.5". Its a heavy beast and I wanted a thicker heavier duty strap for it.

holy insanity, that's some serious glass you have on there. I just use the default leica strap, but yeah, i might suggest something with some serious grip on there for peace of mind with that lens.

The LeicaGoodies.com Sling/ Strap/ Hook system. It "ain't purty", but it certainly works. How many handstraps can you dare put your hand/ fingers in and swing the camera all-around? Only the sling is that secure. With a cross-body carry, the strap can't fall off your shoulder either. The hook allows a secure, but quick disconnect from the strap.

the sling & Y strap solutions seem to be good ideas but i have heard that if you stress one strap lug with the entire weight of the camera/lens that you will damage the camera.

There are 3 extreme solutions here:
1 - Luigi Leicatime strap - beautiful and comfortable if you wear the camera on your neck, plus the way it anchors to the camera is very comfortable in use , it does not flip...
2- UP Strap, unbeatable if you carry the camera on your shoulder, it just stays up no matter what...
3- Artisan&Artist woven silk strap (preferably black), for this incredible elegance, strength and light weight, but not so practical if you wear the camera on your neck the whole day.

Extreme?

Extreme?

I'm very fond of the Pentax straps. right now I'm using the stock MZ/ZX-series strap on all but one camera (an F2 with a classic wide Nikon strap). They're cheap, suede-backed which is easy on the neck and reasonably grippy on shoulders and have 2 small pockets in them, intended to hold VF covers but they also can hold any other small item.

Their DSLR straps are also nice, but harder to find in junk bins.

I use two systems:
1] Op/Tech Pro straps and webbing connectors for the bulkier cameras
2] The Ghetto Strap (tm) for the rest

Let me tell you about The Ghetto Strap. It's a Blackrapid screw-in loop (~$15) + a quick-release hook (~$2) and a length of fabric strap material from the $1 store. For under $20, I have a strap that is actually easier in use than the [1] strap.

I have also used via the strap lugs for a grand total of $3, but didn't want to incur excessive camera wear.
