Shooting Eastman (Double-X) 5222 in the Leica

Did you order directly from Kodak? They used to have an online store, but when I checked their website today it looks like you have to call them now.

Mine was ordered from take2films.co.uk but I had to order a LOT to avoid a stupid surcharge Kodak have apparently put on orders less than £500 (ex vat)

I called them on the phone. There's no email tracking or anything like that. I suppose I'll have to call them back tomorrow to get a UPS tracking #. Welcome back to the early 1990s.

I've always just called them over the phone. I have always received my shipment within a day or two. That's quick!

Last roll for a while, several other film types knocking at the door and dull enough for 400iso here now.

Chris, love the look in TD201. How many rolls can you get from a one-litre bottle or do you use it and toss it? Thanks.
I make up 2 Litres for 5 reel Paterson tanks which need 1500ml ish. So any wastage can run to 500ml which it never does.
Re use each time, gets a bit discoloured and I will probably toss after 3 months for safety. Usually that rather than exhausted. This batch is on 25 x 35mm rolls, that shot was on the 25th. You can always increase the time if it gets "lazy" :D
TomA has run serious volumes through it but he can do that in under 3 months.
The three months is purely arbitrary based on no facts at all
It's not that it costs a fortune to replace. The Kodalk is a problem in the UK at the moment. I buy from Sigma Aldrich direct and had to wait for it to come from France, I have a trade account.

Thanks, Chris. I have used TD 201 in the past but not recently. Right now, I'm on a D-23 kick and working out the replenishment schedule. This gives me something else to think about. Again, thanks.
Jim

My big worry is that I need some 100ft reels to spool them onto. Anyone have some spare reels left over from Legacy Pro or something?

Damn! I threw out 11 100ft cores a couple of weeks ago during a clear out. Even more annoying considering we are in the same county!

Nothing wrong with D-23, last time I ran 15 rolls through with no replenishment mainly on the Silvermax, I think (I gave up density etc measurement etc when I got over my Ansel Adams phase) the T-201 is sharper because the high sulphite, which acts as a grain solvent at 100g and over and softens the grain, has less effect in the TD-201 due to the shorter time in the first bath.

Just sneak in a small image not on 5222 and apologies for wandering OT.

The Td 201 will do about 60 rolls in the 2x2000 ml batches. I usually increase the time after 30-35 rolls to A3 and B 4 min. You do loose a bit of the A in the process (absorbed by the emulsion) and after 60 rolls the original volume of 2000 ml of A is reduced to about 1600 ml. By that ime it is also somewhat tea coloured and smells a bit - no effect on the developing though.

Sorry, it was rodinal 1:100. 2 h semi stand. Flip at 1h.

Those were quick and dirty scans too i think i could get them better still with some time

I also did a roll at 800 for 1 hour a few weeks ago too. Results were ok, but I think 2 hours for 1600 is perfect.

I'm going to be pushing a lot more now because it gets dark much sooner now.

Only thing that sucks is it takes almost 2.5 hours to get a roll done

I have decided to give this film a try. A member in another group sold me 4 rolls of 36 exposure for $22 which included shipping. If it works for me I plan to buy in bulk..
