What happened to "shooting in public toilet" thread? I can't find it and search function neither (and search says that I haven't posted to that thread even if I posted a picture to it).

Someone got upset and thread got deleted? If this is the case, I would be interested to know why so?

I deleted it

I deleted it

I deleted it.

sicko photography threads don't have a place on this forum.

if toilet photographers want to wax over their work

they will have to do it elsewhere.

the last thing I want to see in a public toilet is some idiot taking pics

Are you for real?

What if you have a REAL job assignment and you would need to shoot in public toilets? Or what if you have a REAL personal project and need to shoot in public toilet?

Or are you automatically a sick pervert if you are in anyway involved with photographing in public toilets?

Wow, this is really...what's the word... *bullcrap* that this topic can't be discussed.

Woah suddenly I have a LOT less respect for you Stephen.

All of those 'censorship' threads are rushing back like blood to my brain.

Someone just went down a notch.

It was an honest thread about what to do in the situation where you shoot somewhere like a public bathroom, then suddenly people took offense.

Stephen I think that locking the thread and giving your reasoning would be a LOT better than out and out censoring.

Does this get me banned???

I can understand Stephen's viewpoint, but in this case I dont think that it was the intention of the person who started the thread to take "sicko" photos.
I didn't read it that way at all.

This was my photo in that deleted thread. Yes, if you're offended by this, then go for it. Japanese tourists taking a leak. Big deal?

EDIT: Yes, stupid shooting situation, but as a photograph...disturbing, pervert etc.?

Reminds me of...
When we were little kids, we would call up
someone named "Dunne," and ask, "Are you done?"
He would answer, "Yes," and we would say,
"Well, wipe yourself!"
Separate Thread for public toilet pix?
Not needed here. mike

So here's my thoughts.

A fairly innocent thread was deleted because it appeared to be a 'sicko thread'.

If that thread was bad advertisement, then having this thread on the general discussion viewed by members and guests HAS to be worse.

There was nothing wrong with the thread.

Options for shooting a public toilet were suggested. I think about half of the suggestions were to get friends to pose, so as not to offend anyone.

Sounds like a sensible thread to me.

I just can't get it why everyone needs to get provocative and engage in flame wars.

Deleting that "shooting in toilet" thread was just unneccessary and to me that was a very provocative act. Censorship gone wrong...

Have a nice day everyone.

I love that..

I agree that the original censorship was provocative, but it does seem this thread will turn nasty. I'll try not to troll, but I think my opinion is very strong and could appear argumentative

A personal project with a "Water Theme" as the OP had called it does not mean the photographer has the right to walk into a public restroom to take pictures of the people there. I wouldn't mind watching said person getting an ass beating by the photographed subjects.

Hmm, I did think the original thread was a bit 'odd' but then some things can be lost in translation....

I'll agree that the subject isn't one to be considered conventional, but there is no explicit reason as to brand it perverse or sicko. (unless you were a guy intentionally sneaking into a girl's lavatory with a camera...then I would feel full justification in name calling)

What was the point of this photo? I don't care how much artistic value you or your fans see in this photo, I wouldn't like to be one of the people in that photo.

ywenz if I remember correctly, yours was the first 'troll'-like post on that thread, about how you would like to see the OP (Jon) forcefull retained until the police arrived was it?

It seems again people missed the fact that the OP was asking how to go about such a photograph 'properly' and was prompted to ask the owners of the building. It was also stated the image would be of a person posing, not a stranger.
