Shot of Homeless Person Needed

It's not me who's looking for the shot. Click the p.net link to get to the ad.

Ok, sorry, but ... my password over there, or what I thought it was anyway, isn't working. 🙁 If you or somebody could pass on the link I would appreciate it. 🙂

That's a pretty sad looking image.

I know. 🙁 They (there are more in the series, I only posted one) were taken when I was taking one of those "Problems In Society" courses back in HS and had to do a presentation. It still gives me the creepies to look at it even now. 🙁 And yes, I had my brother and one of his larger friends with me when I went on that shoot. There was no way I was going to do that alone!

I see homeless people every day on my way to work. The worst thing I saw, though, was a guy drinking Listerine. I just had to give him a few $$'s for something better than that. Saw him a few months later, after he had apparently been in a hospital (he was wearing scrubs and looked a lot better).

Here's the listing, verbatim..

Seeking black and white photograph(s) of homeless person/family reflecting homeless condition. Picture must immediately communicate poverty. Impoverishment symbols such as shopping cart with belongings, sleeping on park bench suggested but not required. Face should not be recognizable (to preserve dignity). Photo (s) to be used in local advertising campaign. Recognition will be extended to photographer.

Get in touch with the fella at his website at http://www.spielbauer.com/

His address is at the bottom. Looks like it might be used for some kind of campaign poster.

Bad deal alert.

"Recognition will be extended to photographer."

If this is to be used in an advertising campaign - payment should be extended to the photographer as well.

Not just America. Plenty in UK too -- and even a few in rural France, though you don't see them every day as you would in Canterbury or Santa Barbara, both of which seem to be magnets.

Cheers,

Roger

I have a feeling he wants to use it in some kind of social or political effort. I've written to him and we'll see if he responds.

Here's a shot you can use: this is quite likely where I will be living if I buy another camera or motorcycle anytime in the near future (we don't have a dog house).
Looks like a nice place, actually, 'cept it might not be comfy for sleeping. You don't have to live with that guy with hairy legs, do you? 😉
