As it's getting close to HP5 season in Vermont a few more:

5729-13.jpg

T3 / HP5+ @400 / HC-110b

5909-14-1.jpg

Rollei FW / HP5+ @800 / Rodinal 1:25

I was out today in the rain with HP5+ in an M7 and the 35/1.4 pre-ASPH.

Gotta say I'm getting more confident about Ilford being a possible replacement if my beloved APX 100 stocks run out or Kodak bite the dust and Tri-X or T-max prices go sky high.

Me too I particularly like the results with Perceptol, Ilfosol3, DDX and ID 11. I can see Ilford getting all my money soon.

Initially I found HP5 to be awful and grainy in Rodinal, but have since moved over the HC-110 and am very happy with the results.

I can see why - these photos are fantastic! You should be proud. I like the almost radiant quality of the highlights/brights. Are these processed digitally for the tonality or did you get such a fantastic results from your choice of development and contrast alone? Scanned or wet printed?

Very nice subjects too, sort of surrealistic. Looks like a masquerade?

*jealous* ;-)

Thanks Joakim, it's very kind of you to say so.
I currently scan my negatives and make adjustments in Lightroom 3. Nothing major - I only make basic levels and exposure adjustment and do a little dodging and burning. I find a good 16 bit scan of the neg can deliver a file that works really well digitally.

I'm in the process of seeing up a darkroom with the intention of producing the same results in wet-prints. :)

Hey Johnmcd, shot n.3 (Bruxelles, Saint Josse Ten Noode) is 5 minutes away from where I live!! ( I may have a similar pic in my archive...have to look for it). Strange to see it here.
