Should I split my S3-2000 kit to sell?

This is not an attempt at a free ad but I've finally deceided to sell my like new S3-2000 kit. I'm going to place it in the clasifieds first but can't deceide whether I want to split up the kit. Would I be more likely to get a better price from seperate sales of the lens, body and case or together?

Try to sell it as one at first.
both body and lens are worthy of ownership.

You can advertise it as one sale, but mention you'd be prepared to split it up if someone would be interested in just the camera or just the lens. From a user standpoint I could imagine someone wanting to buy just the camera body to use with the lenses they already own, but if I were in a position to buy, I would certainly go for the complete kit.

Great camera and great lens, seems that someone would want them both together, but in my experience selling a few kits it was much easier to sell them separately AND it came out to more cash that way although I would have preferred the advantage (ease) of one buyer. Try it as a kit to start and you can always split them if needed.

My experience selling reissue Nikon RF gear has been the same as dreamsandart's. I think most buyers would like the kit rather than just the lens or body, but don't want to or unable to fork out the extra cash.

Looks like you have a taker for the kit, though 🙂

I have found that kits are harder to sell because of the total cost issue. I think you will get more for them apart and you might sell them quicker. I thought stuff that would sell better as a kit did not.

It should be noted that while I purchased both the lens and body, I did so at different times due to cash flow. If you are feeling trusting and lucky, you might sell and send say the body and get the money for the lens two months later and send it then. I've done this sort of thing, even let them put money down and send the rest for $300 items. Never got burned here (look for longer term members than say a month) but your mileage may vary.
