Show me a nice old car

Hey Besk! It was the first one I'd ever seen. Didn't know what it was until I did a little searching.

All the best,
Mike

Renault Dauphine. Built or assembled in loads of places. They seemed to last longest in Vietnam as Saigon taxis. Nearly everywhere else they rusted badly but they were nice to drive and quite pretty. One lusted after the Gordini version.

A "Charlie" or Charleston. Marvelous cars. I love them. Needless to say, I own one, too. And here is mine parked outside of a marvelous French bakery in Portland, OR. Taken with my cellphone.

Heh! Always liked the 2CV! Goofy, tough as nails, about as simple a car as you can get. :)

I have a real weakness for things French. I have loved the 2CV since the early 60's and when this orange one showed up in Hemmings I was powerless. It always makes me smile and what other machine will do that?

It's a Honda S600 Roadster!

I always enjoy seeing new photos of the older Honda S cars. This one in particular appears to be an incredibly nice example. The engine in the S600 featured a 9,500 RPM redline, though it was actually capable of revving much higher. Thanks for sharing!

...

Love these little Honda S600s! Beautiful little motor!

When I worked in a Honda motorcycle dealership, my boss had one that we kept on the top shelf in the parts room. Lifted it up and took it down with a forklift when he wanted to take it out. :)

The sound of the engine revving was a wonder.

Worked in a Honda bike shop myself, Eastern Speed in Port Chester. That was along, long time ago.

Must say I enjoy anything that could be described as 'Motoring for the Masses'. Older Renaults of any shape or size are rare here so great to see the Dauphine and now a 4. Keep an eye out for a Renault 16!

I once had a Renault 10, and later a Renault 16. I loved both of those cars!

Race car driver Stirling Moss said something to the effect that the R16 was the most brilliantly designed car of the time.
