tooffy, what do you think of the 19mm?

I think you will hardly find any bad Xenotar type lenses.Price/Performance ratio aside. I think the Canon50mmf2.2 is really not bad at all.
In particular when compared to the other "base/economic 50", the 50/2.8 (Tessar) !
Maybe I should make a porn with Canon 35mm's....

tooffy, Koni Kowa -- Congrats on the Canon Sonnars! You'll be amazed at how compact they are for a 1.5/50.

Sorry mablesound. Thot my spokeman, bennyng will answer the question.
Seriously, I've not really tried this lens yet as generally I'm not a wide-angle guy. Will try it out this weekend & post a photo for you.
I'm sure benny can comment on this. Anyway, my lens is going to benny soon.

Is it just me or is that 19mm massive? Ive seen the 35mm f1.5 in a shop locally and thought it was large (diameter) but the 19mm must be huge. Anyone got a photo of it on a camera?

The 19mm not that much bigger than the 35/1.5. The 19mm LTM on a Canon L1, the 35/1.5 on a Canon P. The two bodies are pretty much the same size. Yes, it is a crappy digicam picture, but was the most available tool for the job. Also, those are Tom A. RFF softies on the shutter release

amazing compact 50mm lens, very good performer.
The last RF standard lens developed by Canon, 1961, sold just for one year.
It has a focussing tab which can be unscrewed, no infinity lock, and fits perfectly to the late Canon RF lens line (i.e. the 35/2.0)

Thanks, I bought it from a fellow RFF member. It has been used a lot over the years but it was thoroughly cleaned by the seller recently and works nicely. I've shot a couple of test rolls but haven't developed anything yet.
