I love my Canon S, but I prefer to use my L1 as my user camera. The meter is a rare Canon non-coupled version that I got with my VTDM. I have been told be another well known collector that is only the third one he has ever seen.

Uh, may I ask why you use that external viewfinder?

Its a waist-level finder that is extremely useful for framing grab type shots both in horizontal and vertical camera orientation. The pic in my post above shows the finder in position for vertical shots; swivel the top of it from 9 o'clock to 12 o'clock as you look at the picture and it is ready for horizontal shots. Finder size is small at 1cm x 1cm, but believe me, it is way better than nothing! Below is a horizontal pic taken with this finder and camera combo from my gallery.

Frank it is a Zeiss model 436/8 made for the Zeiss Super Ikonta. I got mine on eBay sometime in 2003 and you can occasionally find them at vintage camera dealers. Pacific Rim Camera was selling one a while back but I doubt they still have it. Below is a small pic of the finder in horizontal position.

Hi all, I figured I would put in my contributions to the "show off your Canon RF" thread. I hope my additions are up to snuff with the beautiful Canon P's and 7's.

First up is my G-III QL 17. I got this camera last week, so I haven't gotten to use it much yet.

Next of my beauties is my QL19 from the mid 60's. Introduced 2 months before I was born. 😀

Here is my working QL25 mid 60's also. Introduced 5 months after I was born.

And last are my 28's. I call them the Twins even though one has a small dent in it. 🙄

I hope the photos are not to big, if so I will correct the error.

True, the slick chrome is a bit slippery and it's in the way of the selftimer, but it definitely improves the hold on the camera, especially when using a wriststrap.
I got it from the bay, I believe I paid 45 USD about a year ago.

Those black ones are cool looking cameras, I must admit.

I'm kinda keeping my eye open for one, but on e-pray I've seen a few that are obvious black fakes, with chrome focus rings and such, with such things as "L@@K" and "R@RE" in the descriptions. {_gag_}

Thanks for the comments above about my GIII... It is nice to see so many people showing theirs off! I like the look of the black ones as well, but don't think I can justify putting together the $$$ since I have a nice working silver one.

I have a nice working chrome/silver one too, but I do like the looks of the black one.

Kim, Yes, the older one looks sharp, but if I get one it will be one I use, and I want it to be the GIII so I can swap some parts if I need to.

I know I come down on those who think of a camera as a fashion accessory, but those black ones are very cool looking. A black one where the black is just starting to wear off to reveal the brassing below would be one I would want. 🙂 🙂
