this is my favorite F2 configuration & my favorite "existing light" kit (though I preferred the 35/1.4 to the 50/1.4).
...the DP-3 had a one year production run [76] before it was replaced with the DP-12 which introduced A.I. indexing to the F2.

My 1967 F has the inscription "Union Photo Supply" on the bottom plate, I googled it without any results - anyone know why it got this engraving?

My F2 with the DE-1 and Nikkor-H 50mm f/2. The F2 has a few dents around the edges but from what I can tell, functions perfectly

Just a guess but it might be a rental...

Not as old as some, but nearing 20 years:
And this puppy's getting up there, but after a complete rebuild by Nikon Authorized Service, it's as good as the day it left the factory.
Best,
-Tim
PS: Both are for sale in the classifieds by the way.

1967 Nikon F & 1974 Nikon F2.
The F2 just had a CLA at Sover Wong, so smooth and nice. Almost too smooth, I think I prefere the older F before the F2... Still looking for a nice black F.

Looks just like my pair! Though I have to agree, for some strange reason I too prefer the F to the F2.

Picked this up a couple months ago, practically NOS. A real joy to shoot.

The PC-Nikkor 28 3.5 is the odd one out, that's from the 1980s.
