Simom,
...not sure how I missed your post but glad to see it now. Your 35 & "F" look very clean & well maintained, a kit to surely be proud of.

Hi Mike,

Glad that you saw the post and thanks for your comment. This is a very sweet "low mileage" Nikon F and subsequently its really nice to shoot, with everything feeling tight still.

The lens took a while to find, its a very early 1959/60 9 bladed 7 element type which is quite rare. I have a 5cm f2 from '59/60 also with 9 blades. Nippon Kogaku made the 10.5cm f2.5 and 13.5cm f3.5 with the same iris configuration also, right at the start of production. They are hard to find but I think I've just located a 10.5cm to add to the "early" lens collection. I'll post a pic if/when it turns up!

Kind Regards,

Simon

Hi folks, I would like to upload some pics to RFF but I cannot find the BB code from Flickr since they updated their page. Any clue ?

My first "real" camera was a Nikon, but at the time I was a starving student, and finding extra cash to buy film was a little difficult. I lusted for more lenses and accessories, but managed to do well enough with the gear I had.

Now that the prices for film gear have come down, I have been able to buy many of the things I couldn't afford when I was younger. And being in Japan I have been able to find some of the more difficult to come by gear. I recently picked up a 5.8/1.4 lens, and it is one of the best lenses I have ever used.

There are a few more things I would like to add to my collection, so I often get out to the used camera shopsnto see what I can find.

Here are a few of my cameras. None are minty or beautiful, but I enjoy and use all of them.
