Show Off Your FSU

Hope you can see the links. I LOVE my FSU cameras. I got them from FEDKA. For only 3000% more, I could get a Leica M-M and shoot black and white digital!!!!

My Zorki 4 arrived!!

About a month ago, I was seriously bit by the FSU camera bug and I started looking for a Zorki 4 and Jupiter-8 lens. After some research, I figured I would look for for a early version, preferably from 56 or 57. Mainly, I wanted strap lugs, engraved shutter speeds, and 1/1000 top speed, and the earlier Zorki 4s had all these things.
I was only looking, but I ran across this gorgeous camera from 1957, complete with original 57 Jupiter-8 w/cap, original leather case, manual, and original box.
The camera and lens appear to have never been used (the original refillable 35mm cartridge was still in it), but contrary to what I've read about where the functionality of FSU cameras is inversely proportionate to it's appearance, this camera (and lens) appear to work perfectly.
I'm pretty excited, and I have to admit that I think this is one of the best looking cameras I own.

Hi,

Yup, they are good cameras. It's the owners who mess them up, probably trying to do repairs, which they all say are easy...

Regards, David

PS. Have you put a film through it? A few pictures from it would be appreciated by all.

I'm about halfway through a roll of Kodak BW400CN.
Out of curiosity, what is the numbered ring that surrounds the base of the shutter speed dial?

I think that is to set the delay for using flash bulbs. If you use electronic flash, set it to zero.
Nice looking Zorki!

Scroll down about using flash & I think this will answer your question. Nice camera!

Thanks guys.
I figured it was something like that.
I looked in the manual and all I found was the reference to "Synchronization Scale"

The russianplaza link explains it well though :)
