Notice I said first, this could be the start of a new relationship.
Hi there, this is my first post, I recently bought a Zorki 1 and have become hooked again. I am a commercial photographer who has worked with digital since digi SLR's appeared many moons ago. When I studied photography I was VERY lucky to find a very cheap Leica IIIb with an elmar 5cm 3.5 and not long after I also picked up a dirt cheap M2. In my very poor post uni days I needed to move with the times in order to get myself going in the world of press and commercial photography and in my wisdom I sold all my Leica gear and bought a Canon SLR and some lenses. That was about 20 years ago and recently I have felt regret for doing this. Now I can't really justify investing sooooo much money in another Leica but I wanted to show my son how it 'used to be done' so I picked up this Zorki, we've already shot one roll and all seems good so let the fun begin. This looks a cool place so I hope to post more in the future. Here's my new baby complete with a strap I made.
I have already bought a Jupiter 50mm f2 which should arrive soon.

This is my contribution, it's the only one of my FSU rangefinders I've been able to customize thus far and it was also my first FSU camera. The skin is a copy of Pravda and is a thin-but-grippy 3M material that I got from Skinslove. Unfortunately he only supports a few cameras, but it gave me an excuse to try Aki-Asahi for my Zorki-4/4K. The skin feels amazing, But my Z-4K is in the shop currently and will be reskinned next. Honestly I think they prettiest custom cameras I see are FEDs, Zorkis, and Kievs because they're inexpensive and usually not collectible so there's little risk in going crazy with them. I'm still kicking myself for selling that Industar-61 L/D as the replacement I got need a lot of TLC.

My Zorki 4 with original Jupiter 8 lens, 1958. Lightmeter is Leica, early 50s and works perfectly.http://https://www.flickr.com/photos/stuartglloyd/14151955402/in/set-72157644241732558

That's a really nice FED 2, Ron; one of the best and probably the prettiest of the FSU cameras in my humble opinion. The strange thing though is that the FISON hood would probably cost more than the camera. Says something about avid collectors, doesn't it?

THanks and indeed the Fison hood is more worth than the lens and camera, but apparently the seller didn't know that. Btw I had to restore the camera: the eyepiece of the viewfinder was missing, the cold shoe was glued on and missing its screws and I had to replace the curtains. But now it is a nice camera again.

A few years ago I bought for not a lot of money a Fed on eBay which had a viewfinder attached to the hot shoe. The VF turned out to be a Leitz 135mm, worth more than the camera. The VF is a perfect match for my Leitz 135mm Hektor.

It's a custom homage build. I make them from various parts, usually with swiss or vintage swiss or russian movements.
