My Trio of FSU Cameras
1) A Zorki-Zorki with I22 that I bought from David Newton. Sweet camera.

2) A FED-2 with an I26m. My first step down the FSU slope. I have enjoyed using the camera. I got a FED 50mm f/3.5 to try.

3) Kiev88 w/Vega 12b 90mm f/2.8. It is a big noisy beast, unlike the Zorki-Zorki. It has been interesting using it. And now the diaphragm on the Vega 12b is gummed up so I'll need to disassemble and clean. Ugh.

I just received a Zorki 3M from Oleg at OK vintage cameras. CLA, new curtains ready to shoot. Very nice viewfinder on this camera.

My favourite FSU
Without doubt, my fav FSU camera, and one of my all time favourites for it's combination of size, easy use and very affordable price, the FED-2. It's a perfect combination of the Leica II & Contax II. And it's even beautiful in it's way.

My Zenit 122. A proletarian plastic Pentax K-mount clone. Built like a Tupolev tank, and it is (strangely) by far the most reliable of all my FSU cameras. It's so ugly and clunky, I adore it for its sheer quirkiness.

I bought this Zorki-4 mostly for it's conmemorative inscription for the 50th aniversary of the 1917 revolution. It works, but rangefinder is out of place and the shutter release lacks a screw, so it falls if upturned...

These 2 have been on my list for long, now I got them in good condition with working light meters.
Kiev-5 and Kiev-15
The Kiev-5 is based on the Kiev-4 and derived it's body and the shutter. The top is new with improved bright range finder and light frame for 50mm. The last version also had a frame for 80mm.
The lens mount was modified too. It lost the inner bayonett. Therefore a new 50mm lens with outer bayonett has to be developed. Jupiter-8 NB.
Kiev-15 is improved version of the Kiev-10, the selenium light meter is gone and replaced with TTL meter. it uses the same fan blade shutter as th eKiev 10. Both models have auto exposure with shutter priority. There is no aperture ring on the lens, it is on the body instead.

...Very Nice Family, too!Out of curiosity how do you find the Kiev-5 to handle? Is it much the same as - or slightly more awkward than - your K-4M? I ask because the shutter-release button seems to be quite high.

Here's one of my Soviets, my original '67 Zorki 4 that started the obsession, strap is a Cultered Kiwi one as my old belt made one got tatty but the Lens cap is still the same one I made out of leather recycled from some old boots when I revived the camera, its been stitched and waxed more recently though.
