Thank you Giulio! I want to have a lens for it, I think about another Color-Skopar 50mm f/2.5 but it must be in near mint condition.

No, IMHO, the modern black painting and plastic knob are not good match to original leica.

There is no plastic knob on the Color-Skopar 50mm f/2.5 and the paint work is about the same: neither shiny nor dull black paint on brass.

Erik, do you know if the internals of a non-stepper IIIc can work (or be made to work) with a stepper top plate/shell?

I really don't know, but I think a problem will be the axis on wich the rewind lever is mounted. This will be too short for a stepper top plate.

Yes. Probably will have to disassemble some cameras to see what kind of mod may be possible. I'd prefer to use a regular IIIc as a donor for the painted shell, not a stepper IIIc

Youxin got my IIIg early yesterday afternoon and he emailed me last night around 11pm saying it was done haha. Hoping to have it back early next week so I can post a photo of it cleaned up with my new Cub & Co strap that's on its way.

Just followed you on the IG. Love the photography you are doing there. That's a fast turnaround. Must not of been in too bad shape.

Nah, it was clean but it had never been serviced before haha. I put a roll through it and the speeds were all over the place in the lows and highs and I could just tell it needed to be lubed up a bit.
Thanks! I appreciate it.

It's obvious that you need a black and nickel Leitz VIDOM 'torpedo' viewfinder with that, Mike...

I will just rub some shoe polish on my VIOOH and fake it for now.

All CLA'd and done. 3 rolls through it and I've only had it back for a week. IIIg + Jupiter-12 + Barbour jacket.

Leica IIIf RD (1953) with Summitar 50mm f/2.0 (1952)
I got it a few years ago from a friend of my uncle who used to be a camera collector. The Summitar is really a nice lens which I should use more often.

I recently inherited a 1955 IIIf with the collapsible summicron and have been very impressed with results from the lens.

Not gonna lie, I've been using my IIIg almost every day for the past 3-4 weeks and love not having to carry a bag anymore and just throwing this in my pocket. It's great for day to day stuff even though the M cameras are infinitely easier to use in practice.
