Wasn't there an experimental 35mm ELROO? Fixed focus or 2 or 3 zones? Trouble is, they kept knocking up gizmos and so on and then they turn up and baffle everyone.

I have shown this IIIa before, but since now finally my Summarit is ready for use, here it goes again.
For a IIIa very uncommon, it has the button on the left side. The one for the flash bracket ... however, since the IIIa has a narrower body than IIIc and following, fixed brackets won't fit.
The other unusual part is the position of the optical cell of the Summarit. It is twisted clockwise from the central position after I adjusted the focus for f/1.5. Guess I can't use the standard hood now.

I just bought this Canon III the other day for $60. I intended it to be my "beater" model I could use to take hiking or on rougher trips so I wouldn't have to worry about it. I was kind of bummed to find out you have to trim the film leader, and this model doesn't have flash sync. But I guess you guys are dealing with this kind of stuff as well.
But I realized I don't even use flash most of the time, and I bought and LED light that I can mount on the cold shoe instead of a flash that should suffice. I find that people are often shocked by flash at night, or can get annoyed by it blinding them. So I thought I'd experiment with an LED anyways. The LED has a diffuser attached and comes with flash gels, adjustable color temperature and brightness, all for $20. Plus I can use it for video and use it with my webcam during my online teaching sessions. It's interesting how restrictions force you to "get creative" and make you use your brain, so maybe it's a good thing.
The same person also sold another Canon III that just went for $100. So I guess I can't complain.
Looks like a nice camera nonetheless and I'm looking forward to trying out one of these older models (currently using a Canon 7 with all the bells and whistles).
You don't want that ugly flash rail on your canon. It has nice lugs and rail protruding. the LED might work fine. Lumicube.

This pair just arrived. 1931 Leica I (Model C Standard) and 1939 Leica I Model E.
Second curtain is sticking in both so I have to pull the shells off and see if there is anything in there. The 1939 needs a new cover and I think the 1931 will too once the shell comes off as it looks like it is no longer attached in a few places.
Warning black Barnacks tend to multiply....

My first LTM, Leica IIf RD/500, 1952/53. Just back from Youxin Ye. Paired with Elmar 5cm 3.5 Red Scale, 1953. Bought a Summaron 3.5 cm 3.5 with M adapter a couple of years ago for my M2, and then I started reading this forum...

Hi everyone, my name is Paul Dikan and I spend time between Naples, FL and Chatham, MA. I have based on some limited research a 1940 Leica 111c Luftwaffen camera I inherited from my father. Both my mother and father fled the Ukraine separately during WWII and met in a Bavarian Nazi work camp in Ickelheim (Jckelheim) Germany near Windsheim. The camp was liberated by US forces which included my future uncle George of the US Army Air Force. Uncle George married my fathers sister when my father married my mother there. During the US occupation my uncle purchased the camara from the Munich Air Ordnance Depot Post Exchange which he then conveyed to his brother-in-law, my father. My uncle was instrumental in helping my parents and my brother emigrate to the US in 1950 to settle in Chicopee, MA where I was born. I would love to gain any additional information on the camera that is available from Leica records. I have attached the pictures of the camera and paperwork I have. Would greatly appreciate any info! My Leica IIIg with a Zeiss Opton 50mm f1.5 sonnar. The adapter was made by Amedeo. Chris Andreyo of Skyllaney calibrated it and to our surprise found that this lens-adapter arrangement compensates for sonnar focus shift. At all distances and apertures the image was perfectly in focus. Chris found that the cam on the Amedeo adapter is sloped to exactly compensate for the shift.
