Nope ... they all defected to Russia to make Feds.

Just Joined the fold with an original III complete with Summar 5cm F2 lens and excellent condition half case.. Shutter looks sound and it runs like a watch .. The RF is very dim (this is usual isn`t it? - used to the Zorki-4 and R-D1 here) but seems to be on track - only brassing is to the slow speed knob and the sliding barrel part of the collapsible summar..
Sorry for the crude "Just arrived" pic ;-)

Well, I thought I would break down and post some of my new and old toys.
Here are 2 leicas and a Zorki. Zorki belonged to my Grandfather, who was a photographer and got me started on this too. Well, after he died I got his Zorki. Unfortunately it was broken and set in a closet for many years. Well, sometime ago, I got me a Bessa R and that started this comeback to the RF photography. Since then I got the 2 Leicas you see here in photos. M3 and IIIf. IIIf was in a poor shape, needed many repairs. So, after doing some research. Leica and a Zorki went to Russia, to visit Oleg Khalyavin. After about 30 days - I have them both in my hands - in a perfect shape, working smooth and bright viewfinders. Word of advise - if you need a FSU 35mm camera such as FED, Zorki, Kiev, or a Barnack Leica - send it to Oleg - very good prices, very fast work, superb quality. Don't waste time or money with others. I tried to get a couple of quotes with other "repair" places in USA, - either way too much money or just poor communications, which indicated to me poor service. Send it to Oleg - you will be happy you did.
Anyway, here is my IIIf with a rare ZK 5cm 1:2 lens from 1948 - I read that it could be Zeiss glass. It's new to me, so no comments on quality of images yet.
Other lenses - Zorki with I-22 and M3 with J-3 (with Leica screw-to-M adapter)

Just wanted to post an updated photo of my Leica kit. With the death of my Bessa L, I decided to replace it with a Canon IVSB. I love the Canon so far. Except that it is down at the repair shop having its rangefinder adjusted.
Since the last time that I posted a pic of my Leica kit, I have added a Summar, Summaron, Canon 100/4 and VC 25mm lenses to the Elmar that I started out with. I have also picked up a Flexameter WL finder to supplement my two sports finders.
Richie
PS I am currently planning to add a FED 2 and a Jupiter 3 and 9 to round out my kit in time for Christmas

Thanks
I found the hood at KEH. They usually go for well over $100 on *bay but I was able to get it for $69.

Hi Folks, I've never owned a LTM till today. Here's a pic of my IIIF RD w/5cm Summitar. It just arrived from Ritz Collectables. They rated it a 10- for cosmetics but I have a question:
One major thing I noticed is that the lens infinity mark does not center at 12:00 on the body when the lens is screwed in all the way; it is more towards the 1:00 position and is not aligned with the aperture dot. Is this something that can be adjusted? I wasn't expecting this.
Also, the winding knob has a little play in it and the film counter does not rotate parallel to the top of the camera. I imagine this can be taken care of during CLA. (which I wasn't expecting to perform). The lens seems clear and clean but the aperture ring is a little rough.
I know I overpaid as I had the privelige of visiting Youxin Ye at his home about 1 month ago and he allowed me to handle a few of his Barnacks. Talk about "butter"! They were like little jewels. Very nice. He told me I shouldn't pay more than $450 for a IIIF RD but they are being bid quite high on eBay lately and I lost quite few so being a little impulsive, I took the plunge and decided on this one. I'm learning... Thanks for listening....

Well-known
1) The lens position is normal.
2) The winding knob on my IIIf has some sloppiness; meaning it rotates back and forth slightly after winding to the new frame. An incredibly expensive cla by Kindermann didn't make any difference to the play in the knob. The counter plate should stay parallel to the top of the camera.
3) Summitars are known for having rough feeling aperture rings due to old, hardened grease. It's a very simple fix.

Thank you Victor. I appreciate it. I also got an email back from Youxin last night about the lens being "off" and he said it was normal as they match fitted the lens to body back then (I always wondered how that alignment worked) and by the serial numbers - lens is around 1949 and body around 52/53. The orientation is a weird feeling though compared to an M lens.
I am heading to Youxin's hopefully sometime this weekend to drop the camera off for a CLA. He can also take care of the sluggish aperture ring.
I can see how these cameras can become quite addicting
...
One other general question... I noticed two raised bumps on the film counter; one btween 7 & 8 and the other between 27 & 28? Do you know what purpose they serve? I'm guessing to allow you to grab onto it with a fingernail to adjust the counter to 0 after reloading? Thanks again...

Arr, same here on my iiia - I've been using them for just what you describe - so I hope that's what they're for!
