Finally got around to develop the first roll from the Widelux F7 last weekend.
I will stop the lens down next time.

Any hints as of best aperture to reduce/prevent the pulsar shaped light effects from spot lights with the Widelux cameras?

All Fuji Neopan 400 @ ISO1600 in D-76 stock
Probably all but the first one shot wide open @f2.8
I blew the highlights with these quick scans, will have to rescan sometime.
elux is small, light and fun enough to carry around ;-)

Hello Dirk, congrats on the F7 !
About the blown highlights, could be haze in the lens !? Was there a UV filter fitted? Most likely 400 @ 1600 is the culprit.

Will finish my first roll (Ektar 100) on a recently acquired F8 hopefully tonight and test the highlights response !

The blown highlights in these files surely is a combination of pushing that Neopan and the quick and dirty scan.

I was wondering about the pulsar shaped patterns left and right off the highlights.
I take it this is to be expected when shooting the lens wide open in such condition (night shots, slow shutter, bright highlights from street lamps, etc …)?

How can I reduce these high light patterns with the Widelux - stop down or is it simply an issue when shooting at the slow shutter speed of 1/15 in these conditions?

After seeing the first rolls from the Widelux, I have vouched to always have this little fella with me, such a fun camera (thanks, it's not much larger than a Leica M).

Last week, while in a fit of CBA, I ordered a NOS Russian Horizon 202. The camera arrived yesterday, and after doing some preliminary testing I loaded a short roll of expired Superia 200. Today I managed to shoot through the roll, get it developed, and scan it.
I happy to say that the camera worked great.
Here's one of today's shots.

The Widelux is definitely a much nicer built camera.
But at 25% the cost, a working Horizon can be a good buy.

Thats cool Monz. How do you know how much you need to wind between frames? or just do 2 rounds for each "frame" and that is always enough?

Doing this on any of the G series Texas Leicas will result in an 88mm pano, for 24x88, or 30mm longer than an X-Pan Hassy.

I do this with expired but refrigerated 120, but have a 24 or 30mm mask X 88mm (9CM) in place. I get a lot of my film expired but refrigerated from various sellers on eBay.

Easier to load the 120 over the mask than messing with the 135 canister, but hey, it's all good.

I am still in play and explore mode with the Widelux and burn through my last Neopan stash (then it's finally back to TX400).

For the most part I do 120 6x17 panos, but for a more compact solution a swing lens is what I want, but will make do with in-camera stitching for the time being, Fuji X10
