My father was a Minolta fan so I grew up learning on an SRT-101. I wanted to get one since I still have a few of his lenses, so I bid on many "working" ones on ebay. Well, none of them worked, but I ended up getting a good price on an XD-11. Just got it today and I am very pleased with it. So smooth compared to the SRT series! Everything appears to work despite the brutal packing job (tiny cardboard box, no padding). And I amassed a few nice lenses in my search.

The best camera is one that still works!

I can't believe the major re-organise I had to do of my cupboard to find a space for that thing! I moved three other (lesser) cameras out!

Hi Martin,
That's the 75mm f4.5 on the 67ii. I got a 105mm f2.4 with it as well ... it's actually a smaller lens suprisingly.
I have to admit to being somewhat startled when I unpacked the camera the other day ... even though I knew it was going to be a big beast it still caught me by surprise!
It came from RFFer 'barnwulf' in Utah ... I love it!

Yay! You got one! What a sexy beast it is too!
So is that a 67 or a 67ii? How are you finding it so far? The 75mm and the 105mm are absolute honey's of lenses.

Hey Gavin,
Yes ... I'm now the proud owner of a 67ii with 75 and 105mm lenses ... for two whole days now. It's absolutely pristine and has only ever had half a dozen or so rolls of film through it!
No chance to use it yet but definitely on the weekend. Mind you after loading some Pan F into it tonight I did manage to accidentally press the shutter button ... very light action and a nice shot of the floor I suspect!
Le vrai rdu (I think that's his handle) described the shutter sound as similar to someone falling down a flight of stairs ... not far off IMO!

Keith - congratulations! Do share a review with us after you've driven it for a week, and made some photos. I'm particularly interested in how people react to it.

It's a beautiful Pentax. And hard to beat those 6x7 negatives! Used one back in the day when I was young and stupid and hung out of helicopters shooting ariels. Resolution to spare. Can't wait to see some photos, Keith.

Well Keith I hope you love it as much as I love mine - yours certainly looks much cleaner and has the better interface so I'm interested as to how you find it.

I find the thought of hanging out of a helicopter with a Pentax 67 attempting to drag me out with it's weight quite terrifying Pickett!
I also have P Lynn Miller's Norita 6x6 here at the moment ... we met up for some gear chat and a coffee or three the other day and I have it on loan for a while ... great guy by the way! We spent the whole day together and had a hoot fooling around with our cameras and getting puzzled looks from the locals at Kingaroy ... which is a town about 200k north of Brisbane!
I now have several cameras to I need to try out .... like a kid in a lolly shop I am!

hi Patrick, it's the original Hood for 24 and 28mm. I got it with the lens. I know they are rare, so I was lucky for having one.
Have a look at ebay there's the fab 28/3.5 incl. the hood
