When I switched to Canon DSLR, I sold all my Nikon SLRs. Now I miss them.
Recently, I nabbed this Nikkormat FT2 body for $5.50 because for some
crazy reason the previous owner scratched his initials and some numbers
on the back and bottom of the camera. It's ugly, but mechanically, it works perfectly.
The focusing screen is very clean and even the meter works. Built like a tank camera!

Keith: Now looking back, do you still believe that it was "an unprecedentedly stupid move" to start such a [highly popular] thread here?

Just purchased this little SLR. A KW Pilot 6. Can't wait to get my grubby paws on it.

I was actually hunting for a KW Pilot-Super, but there was only an ugly red felt-covered one on Ebay at the moment. So I pounced on this one when I saw it

Hey, I can begin with an SLR with RF. Just picked what I thought was some odd stuff, my first SLR was a Pentax H1a, and then I used a Spotmatic and evolved to an F2 for a long time, moving up the Nikon food chain to an F5, but I either shoot MF now, or Contax G2's and Leicas.
Somehow a lot of "junque" turned in to a collection, and I still like all those cameras I could not afford when I was beginning.
