My iiif has a shutter problem. It fires at all speeds and sounds reasonably accurate, and there are no holes, but one of the curtains is slightly ruffled. Looking at it through the front of the camera as I wind the film advance knob, the first curtain looks fine but the second one appears ruffled at the bottom corner. It is as though the leading edge is not properly attached at the bottom corner.
Is this something I can repair myself, and if so how?

Sorry I should have mentioned that the camera is a Nicca iiif, not a Leica. I've posted in this section because there are probably a lot more Leica iiif owners here than Nicca iiif, and I assume that the shutter construction is similar.

Yep. I'm no expert, but it sort of sounds like a broken curtain tape.

Youxin Ye works on Nicca, according to his web site. I've had nothing but great experiences with him for these sorts of issues and simple CLAs. There may be other tech's closer to you - obviously.

No personal experience with the Nicca IIIf, but I had a Nicca YF briefly and it was a very nice camera. It was, in fact, my "gateway camera" and lead me to rangefinder addiction.
