Shutter lag

I have a Yashica GT that I bought from a well known auction site in the UK. Everything seems to be fine with it apart from the shutter that seems to open and close well enough but at a slower speed that you would anticipate. Specifically if you watch the shutter from in front of the lens regardless of what speed it is set on it seems to work slower. (OK there is a slight variance in the speed between low and high speeds, but not what one would normally anticipate). I have also noticed that the blades have also been lubricated at some point and I wondered whether that was causing a drag on the blades. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Shutter blades should be clean and dry...there should be no oil or anything else on them...
All my old Olympus 35-S camera shutter blades had to be cleaned from oil that seeped onto them over the years...some I had to clean several times before I got it all...after a good cleaning I would let it sit for a few days then fire the shutter and watch...any delay or appearance of it being slow meant there was still oil in there...
Right now all three will fire properly even after sitting for months...I do check them all regularly...

Thanks for your reply. I thought that the residue which does seem to be oil of some sort would have an effect, but wanted to check anyway before I start taking it apart.
