Does the frame preview lever lock into position, so I can use any old LTM adapter and just select the frame lines I want, or does the lever switch back once you release it. Thanks!

The preview lever is spring loaded. It does not lock except at the position dictated by the M lens or M adapter fitted.

Thanks! That what I needed to know, good thing I bought the proper adapter.

The best camera is one that still works!
I have actually used a small hard rubber wedge on my M8 to lock the preview lever into position. One of my lenses and I can't remember which one it was, wasn't happy with the framelines the M8 provided and I found it easier to compose with a different set.

Sigh, in one door, out the other. The M2 came in the mail, I held it lovingly for about 10 min., mounted a lens, put its case and meter on, and then I stripped it back down and sent it to DAG for a CLA, which it needed. Range finder and shutter were off, and the rewind wasn't all that smooth, at least not as smooth as my Nikon F3 which is like butter.

Wow, that must have been tough, but it will be worth it when you get it back. Never used a Nikon, but I can tell you that I never felt buttery smooth in a film advance until my M2

It was more like cocking a Medium format, soooo I'm thinking it likely needed the CLA. Hopefully the insides are not that bad. I'm assuming it was worked on before, the wax seal is gone and some idiot drilled holes in the shutter guard and the round screw next to it to remove to the top. They must not have had the right tools. The outside is beautiful, just a few light marks and a tiny bit of vulcanite missing. Hopefully DAG's turn around isn't that long.
