Other Areas Singapore and Malaysia RF Club

I have the day off after some dental surgery this morning. I got bored, and decided to re-skin my M2 with some leather from Aki-Asahi.

maybe coz no one really shoots with a RF in spore.. 🙁
everyone is overwhelmed with the digital age....
i just got started into the rff world...

Erm....... That's not right. I shoot specifically with a Yashica 5000E and only with RFs and i know for certain that Peter only shoots with his Voigtlanders too. There are a few of us in Singapore who have contributed our photos to the RFF Book 2 too. The Singaporean nicks you see here shoot regularly with RFs though we might not often post here.

Likely, it's that this thread is not followed regularly. Thats the reason for the response to Terence's offer. I would want to have the RFF Book 2 but would likely hold off until May when i get my pay and am seeing how the purple tint problem on the book goes.

I shoot primarily with RFs too. Digital only for snaps of work related pics. I don't even bother to repair my half-dead Nikon FM3A now.

Justin, those cams are beautiful. Do you have a full "family" portrait of your babies?

Ahh... there's another RF supporter in Singapore. 😉

Justin, Pictures!! Pictures!! We want to see some more pictures. 😀

And anyway, chua, Peter and i are intending to meet rovinguy, the RFFer from U.S, for coffee on Wednesday evening. Probably around 7. Anyone else who is interested is very welcome to come along. Contact me for the details. Let's be hospitable to our foreign friends shall we? 🙂

Greetings all, still tramping away in the UK on vacation. Am missing the warmth of home, if you can ever believe it, it's just a bit too cold here even in April.

Justin - The re-skin looks great. Want to work on my M3 and M4-P? 🙂

Glen - Aiya, what purple tinting problem?? Didn't read up on that until your mention of it. I hope my book is alright else I will be royally upset.

Haagen_dazs - I'll echo the views of the others here. RF is alive and well in Singapore. There are loads of RF shooters here who are not part of this forum. Plenty of collectors too for that matter. I see a mini revival in film and RF usage and am quite heartened that many new users are young teens who are already bored with their digital point and shoots. I know because I sell them my older RF bodies.

Attached is a photo I took on a stress-releasing-walk-about-Saturday morning about a month back. Only now then I have the time to scan them.

The photo shows the final step of the ceremony where the medium is liberated through holy water.

Rest of the photos are here.

Saw from afar their activities and decided to have a closer look. Followed and photographed them as they walk from somewhere in Havelock Rd to Tiong Bahru. It is strange that they do not mind my presence or the presence of my camera at all.

All film, XP2.

GL - I'm not exactly sure how watching a medium is stress relieving, but to each his own! I suppose it's the act of depressing the shutter release that's the soothing bit eh? Would love to work on this sort of subject matter myself but don't seem to know how to go about looking for such activities.

After spending three very intense weeks on a project in Singapore it is almost time to go back to the States. The highlight of my trip was the time I was able to spend with two local RFF members, Glenn Chua and Peter Chou. These guys are what RFF is all about. Attached is a photo of Glenn. To be honest about it, I shot it with a digital Canon. All the Pan F I shot here remains undeveloped until I get home.

Hi Stephen! It is our pleasure to share your extensive knowledge and experience in life! It is always good to meet up with RFF members from other parts of the world and do have a safe trip home and when you are in our part of the world, please send us an e-mail. 🙂

Hi guys,

I will be offering high res scanning services from end May onwards on a Imacon 646. Able to work with most 35mm formats as well as some MF (6x6, 6x4.5, 6x9, 6x17, 6x24) and LF (4x5). Can offer files in tif and jpg, size dependent on resolution required but the Imacon does offer some pretty impressive sizes.

Drop me a note if interested and we can discuss pricing.

Terence

I've recently moved back to Singapore and I'm still finding my way around. What's the best place to get a CLA done on LTM Canons and a Leica M3?
