Tim,
I wouldn't trust gc1 too much on that one.
Yes we are a friendly bunch,
Yes you would feel at home here.
BUT he forgets to mention that we PRODUCE ALOT OF GAS!
and the saddest thing is that GAS is VERY INFECTIOUS!

tsk... tsk... which part of my statement is untrue? :D But i did forget about the most important ingredient.

I already have the sub-clinical syndrome. I do think alot about a couple of cameras and i even had a dream about using some camera in my dream a few nights ago!
As for which model, it's kind of hazy. It was some kind of cross between a contax G2, Bessa R2 and Zeiss Ikon and the viewfinder was just BRIGHT... BRIGHT... BRIGHT! I do think it was also 1.0 magnification for the viewfinder and it had 35mm framlines! Bigger, Brighter, Lovelier patch than leica's or Voigtlander's :D Lovely to hold, good balance. :D :D :D

The further i venture into photography, the further away from sanity we all become. The first day i saw Peter's camera, i thought to myself........ what camera is that?? When i saw a guy at sungei buloh carrying 2 leicas, spending thousands buying all that, i thought..... this guy is a hard core fan.

Now i know what is an R2 and i know why that guy was carrying 2 cameras around and worst of all, it's understandable to me and i understand the rationale of it:eek: http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=1870&cat=3131&page=6

And the chronic syndrome is not too far from me either.

Glenn - thanks for showing me around, especially the visit to Riceball- if one shop in S'pore deserves to do well it's Riceball- IMHO a brave venture in an untested(?) market. Dare I say it- a much better, well thought out selection than Borders' entire photography section

It was my pleasure. Yes, Riceball does deserve to survive and even prosper. It does fulfill an important need in the market. A short story and a few photos could be done about it. I would agree he deserves our support. And if this project does come to fruition, books could be sold from there. :D He has a section which supports local works.

Hi Suzie, 10 enough for the time being? I could always get some more; still got some BW400CN to finish.

Now that would be worth a couple of rolls of film. :)

( Saw your picture.:) )

 Picture?! What picture?!?!?!

Hmm... perhaps pictures of everyone could be done. I don't think any one person has seen everyone yet. :p

Glenn, that is such a goofy shot of the Sungei Buloh Leica fan. Nature shooting with a 90mm just does not cut it.

Hi Guys,

My broadband is down since yesterday! Anyway, good to see David and Tim! As for Nick, Feb 2006 is not that far away and I am sure we all need time to plan this endeavour and also to get the contacts for access to the subjects. I am actually very tempted to get another Bessa and a lens but what should I get? The gray R2A looks so good! :p So who is going to start the ball rolling regarding the project? :D

Regards,
Peter

From our mini meeting this morning... obviously more interested in food than rangefinders.

I'll be ordering from our friendly Hong Kong dealer soon, for delivery in mid Sept. If anyone would like to tag on any Leica or CV gear, please email me. Would like to have all orders in by Aug 30.

Cheers,

T
You may also want to post this in the PhotoMalaysia.com forums. There are a few RF users over there (like me ;) ).

Thanks for the suggestion but I'd rather deal with folks who I know. Kinda hard taking orders for strangers in a totally different country, dealing with payment etc...

I've already started Peter, been out with the camera last 2 days and will continue to do so, never know when an opportunity might present itself.

Bravo! Let us just shoot whatever we see! The theme is the have and have nots of Singapore and Malaysia. There are no restrictions in types of medium and equipments. We just shoot and edit after we have a body of work. Happy shooting and good luck! :D

I'd suggest having an opposite of each subject you shoot so that the chosen theme works. For example, say if you shoot someone driving a large flashy car, try to shoot another fella driving a junkyard specimen. Don't let your subjects be restricted to those financial or material differences, be creative.

Happy shooting all!
