Small Film Scanner?

Hi William,
First, good luck in your new career, and have safe & enjoyable travels.

I'm wondering about factors of time & energy?...

You've got to drive and rest, then take pix when the spirit moves you. I can see your wanting to develop your own B & W negs. Why not then, have a CD made in local photoshops, and leave the negative scanning for when you get home, after long hauls on the road?

You have an unparalled opportunity to be in new and interesting places; thus it seems, that your primary focus is best in picture taking!

Re: which film scanner?... from my own research, most of the suggestions of our friends in this thread, above, are sound. If you can afford it, the Scan Dual IV, the Nikon Coolscan V ED or the Elite 5400... all with IR dust suppression, are good choices.

With dust and road bumps, I can't see carrying a film scanner with you. And, BTW, where are you going to dry your washed negs, dust free? 🙂

Looking forward to seeing your pix,
Mike

Yeah, I realize that I won't have time & etc on the road. OTOH, it makes a good excuse to get a laptop and better scanner 🙂

Thanks all for the suggestions.

William

William, Mike is also kind of interested in the scanner. You have first refusal, though. It won't kill me not to have a scanner for a couple weeks. 😉

Let Mike have at it. I've got to get a few other things settled first. Thank you, though, I do appreciate it.

William
