Sneaky reminds me of my cat Pepe who loves to lay in my chair. Getting Pepe’s shots have cost me over $600. That’s ridiculous.

Hey Greg, how are you? I haven't seen you on here in a while. Yeah, vet care is expensive. We spent about $700 a few weeks ago after Sneaky got a bloodborne protozoan infection from a flea. Our vet has never been terribly expensive on vaccinations; They've been about $150 total each time he's needed any, and that usually included several shots at once. Our vet was 76 years old and kept working because he loved the work; he was wealthy already and didn't need the money so he charged low prices. Unfortunately, he died a few weeks ago and a new doctor has taken over his practice. Hopefully prices won't rise too much.

Hi Chris. I had a stroke on March 8th. I’m doing fine but my left leg is weak. I limp but can still walk. Can’t work anymore. Drs. say my stroke came from my job driving a truck. Found blood clots in both my legs which they say is common with truck drivers. Haven’t picked up a camera in a while but beginning to get an itch to again plus I need to exercise my leg as much as I can. Hope you are well & hope your son is doing good as well.

I'm glad you're ok; strokes can be nasty and can leave you in far worse shape than you're in. I had a stroke in 2013; the right side of my body went numb for several hours while I was teaching. That's one of the reasons I am largely retired now, too. I had a nasty antibiotic-resistant lung infection a couple years after the stroke that took months to cure and left my lungs messed up. My right leg and right arm are weak, but have recovered some since then. I still limp a little.
Mack is doing well. He's working as a software engineer making twice what I made as a high school teacher. If it weren't for him, I'd be homeless. This year, I sold almost no prints and had almost no income. He bought a house for us and takes care of anything I need. I don't like being dependent on him, but its better than the alternative; I'm thankful he is willing to help me.
Definitely go out and shot. Walking around with a camera has been good exercise for me, too. I hope the doctors were able to clear the other clots in your legs.

Glad you have Mack to help you. I knew he was very smart. I knew your health wasn’t the best. Yea strokes are nasty but I consider myself blessed. I hope my clots are gone. My insurance was from my work & since I was out of work for 3 months & they paid for 1/2 they dropped my insurance so I don’t have any yet. I’m beginning the process of filing for my disability. My blood thinner medicine Eloquist they said is $500 a month so I can’t afford that. I’ve found out quickly medical care in the US sucks. But I take things one day at a time. Don’t wish to bore you with all my problems. I’m just grateful that I can still take care of my disabled wife. Take care of yourself Chris. I’ll try to keep informed around here. So good to hear from you.

My house has a door to close off the living room from the hall. My son had closed it and I found Sneaky sleeping in front of it with his tail under the door! He wasn't hurt; the door is about 3/4 of an inch above the carpet. I thought it looked funny. When I was photographing him, he woke up and rolled over to see what I was doing; then he quickly went back to sleep!
He likes to sleep there when the door is closed, to make it harder to open it!

Chris, it looks like Sneaky is role-modeling from Mack.

The Great Debate: Gratitude or Greed!
Sneaky had steak and chicken for dinner tonight. He came inside to eat and jumped up on the counter, where I put the plate of meat for him.
He looked at it, then came over to me and headbutted me and rubbed his face on me a couple times, then went back to the food. He saw my son standing there and paused, quickly looking back and forth from the plate of food to Mack and back at the food, trying to decide if he should eat or go thank Mack, too.
After a bit of thought, Sneaky walked over to Mack and headbutted him, then went back and hunched over the plate of meat to eat!

I would call it enlightened self-interest. After all, a good relationship needs the occasional selfless gesture.View attachment 4830271

After 50+ years of being a "Cat-Slave", my response: 1.: Sneaky is beautiful and gorgeous 2: He knows it !! 3: the least you can do as a service, is give him the best possible food. 4: You better get on to it. 5: Don't forget he is the boss. Thats it.

Sneaky likes to lay on this chair. He was annoyed to find it occupied by one of my tripods. I was testing out a Minolta HiMatic AF2, one of the earliest 35mm autofocus point and shoot cameras from the late 1970s. I bought the thing 25 years ago and forgot I had it! The lens is surprisingly sharp, but it vignettes a lot. This was done with the camera's built in flash.

Sneaky woke me up a half hour ago, around 9am, after sleeping all night with me, by cuddling up to me and kneading my bare arm with FULL CLAWS to let me know that it was now "Feed Me O'clock" and time to wake up NOW. I fed him, he rejected the food. I added some leftover steak to it; still not interested. I added treats to it, and he's now eating everything.
He's been sleeping with me a lot lately. When I went to bed last night, he was curled up asleep in a basket of dirty clothes in my bedroom closet. He must have had one eye open because as soon as I got into bed, he jumped into bed with me.

I can relate to this, Chris.
My Joey often doesn't come to bed at the same time I do. So, when he does decide to come, he'll wake me up because he wants to be welcomed. Then in the morning, he'll engage in all sorts of activities around me to get me up.

Hopefully those activities do not involve CLAWS; they do with Sneaky.
