the filter size of the 35/50 is 43mm the new sonnar will be 46mm(as is the 25mm/2.8)

so, yes, you'll have to fork over the cash, or just buy a 46mm round hood that screws on(how droll!)

There's a thread on p.net that suggests the lens is in at least one shop in Japan, for about £400, which is about 20 percent less than we were expecting... I've not tried to verify this at all; just passing it on.

* While the hoods are solid and look well made, my two hoods have sharp edges, I've nearly cut myself a few times!

i have not even tried the the cv 50 yet. it's in the mail.
my thought was this...i do not want 3 50mm lenses. the zm 50 is the most expensive of the 2 that i will have. if i sell it i would get more money than for the cv 50 and i would have to put in less of my money to get the 50 sonnar.
the cv 50 has a great reputation so i would not be suffering with an inferior lens and i would have the sonnar.

not sure what framelines would show with the zm 21. i have the cv 21 but it has a 50 ltm adapter on it and that detrermines what fl would show on my zi.

My ZM 21mm/2.8 Biogon also brings up the Leica M7 50/75mm VF lines. I think this is normal, since none of the lines are close to the 21mm view angle. My old Leica 21mm/3.4 Super angulon also brought up the 50/75mm set.
