So my Canon g7 broke

I dropped my camera and now the zoom function won't work. Everything else works, but I really don't want to be stuck with a single, wide focal length for my P&S. My dSLR stuff is Nikon and I use a Leica m6 and m3. I like the form factor of the g7/g9, etc.
What would be a good replacement for me? What is out there that may be a generation old? I rarely buy current equipment - preferring to get maximum bang for my buck? I had an rd1 for a bit, but sold it in favor of keeping my Leica lenses for film. I don't want to be tempted to sell my m6/m3 so I don't think I want a camera that can take the m lenses (unless it is an m9)😀
I don't do anything serious with my p&s, although I do value a camera that can handle it all. My first thought is to look for a g9/10 or 11. Anything else?

Maybe check out the G6.I've never heard a harsh word against it.I bought a G7 about a week before the G9 came out,but never regreted it,still have it.Sorry to hear about yours.I think the G6 has a swivel screen and shoots Raw and has a faster lens than the later models.

This is a gift from the GAS gods, buy a G11 or an S90

If you end up with another G, consider adding an extension tube like
the one from Canon, Kenko or better yet, the knurled one from Lensbaby (? I'll have to find it.)

Any one of these will protect that tender snoot from bumps

and bangs.

I actually have 2 of the extender tubes. I did not have one on for the accident. The wrist strap was hanging of the back of a chair at a restaurant. My jacket was also over the back of said chair. But the jacket went on the chair first. After lunch I reached for my jacket and the camera goes flying off! The drop must have loosened/damaged something that only relates to zooming.

FIXED!
I have been scouring craigslist since my problem. Well, I took one last look over of my g7 and noticed the MENU button was stuck into the camera in an odd way. Then I noticed the camera housing had come apart just a bit. All I did was snap it back together and everything works fine. Unfortunately (?) GAS has been foiled.

You should take some photos to make sure it works and also to make sure that dust didn't enter the body and end up on the sensor.
